INVITATION
Dear Nordic Colleagues and Friends,

We are delighted to invite you to take part in the 7th Nordic Congress for Palliative Care - Palliation in Progress to be held in Aarhus, Denmark from May 26 - 29, 2004

The topic for the congress is "Palliation in progress". After a decade with the work of many dedicated people the palliative care is well on its way to be established and working in the Nordic countries. A higher level of knowledge, firm attitudes and the exchange of know-how has improved the care of irreversible sick, dying in the Nordic countries. All this has resulted in a creative and constructive development of the caring initiatives. In recent years we have seen changes due to pressure from the public and politicians, economical limitations and the conflict of interest between the professionals.

We invite you to participate in a working community, where colleagues meet, discuss results and thoughts on the matter - a place where we face challenges in a strong and interdisciplinary environment.

We emphasise the workshops, in which the congress' maintopics will be enlightened through lectures and discussions. Your experience and your work are a major contribution to the workshops.

We expect this to be a great event for all working in the multidisiplinary palliative field around the Nordic Countries, with topics of interest for clinicians, scientists, volunteers and public authorities.

Aarhus is Denmark's second largest city and worth visiting. We hope that you find the time and the means to come to Aarhus. We will do our utmost to give you an unforgettable stay, both from a scientific and a cultural point of view.
